Peace of
the gods be unto you!

Imaba-Erechi
pilgrimage is here again. As we all have gathered with our various supplications
unto the gods and before the sacred alter of Eze-Nwanyi Imaba-Erechi –the mirror of life, the merciful
mother-god, the mighty sea that cleanses the vulture, the god of truth and
justice, the morning sun that brightens the day…the theme of our prayers this
year is: possessing our possessions.
This is to say that whatever is lost or stolen in our lives must be fully
restored! As many that are standing on this holy land today (including new
comers), I want to assure you that you are
safe and secured in this place. Just like an Igbo adage says: “when a
child is being pursued by his kinsmen, he runs to his maternal home”. Eze-nwanyi Imaba-Erechi is a mother to
all of us, and whosoever runs to her for protection has run to his or her
maternal home. Whatever problems that brought you to this sacred alter today is
over if you’ll continue to do what is required of you. Those requirements are
discussed below.
YOUR PERSONAL ROLES IN THIS PLACE:
After the Chief Priest has prayed for you, you are
expected to go near the Erechi River and pray by yourself. If you can,
immerse yourself into the water, if you can’t, just watch your hands, feet and
face with the water as you pray. Believe me, if you sincerely believe what you
have prayed for (be it life, wealth, children or what have you), before you will
get to your destination, your life will never remain the same. We also advise
that you have a piece of alligator pepper (ose oji), a piece of traditional white
chalk (Nzu) and water from the Imaba-River at home – for your private prayers.
Oji (kola nut) is optional. Again, you must make sure that the water you will
require is the one that is properly blessed by the Chief Priest. This will help
you a lot.
Mind you, it is your duty to always
remind our mother-god of your problems. What I mean is that your prayers should
not be a one day activity. This is where Christians are better than us. They
don’t pray only once in a year. Apart from their Sunday services, they still pray
every day. Therefore, even if you cannot come by yourself, make sure you call
Igwe Mmili on phone at least, two times every month for special prayers. You
can reach him on: 0812-2982-743.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
I want to use this medium to remind
the visitors in our midst that we have freedom of religion and worship in
Nigeria. Therefore, you must be neutral in the recent “politics” in Umolum. You may know how it all started, but you may
not know when or how it may end up. The only truth I know is that Imaba and Otuvie are one deity bonded by marriage; owned by a people called
the “Opudurus” of which Igwe Mmili
is a descendant. Even the eldest man in this community today cannot explain
when the relationship between the two deities began. We all grew up to meet it
like that. So, feel free to venerate each one of them for your blessings to be
complete as usual. Let the gods (the seven deities that make Umolum a revered
land) be the judges of all our actions or inactions. You should be bold enough
to prove to anyone that the fact that you are coming to Umolum for one problem
or another, does not make you a fool or a slave to anyone. So don’t allow those
who worship money to push you around. You must not allow them to create enmity
between you and our merciful mother-god. I know that you wouldn’t want to attract
more problems to yourself – where you are looking for a solution for the one
you have already. That is why you must not be part of the madness. For your
information, someone may contest with his father, but not with his mother. This
is because when a mother curses a child, the child will neither know peace nor
progress in life. God forbid! The bottom line is that: where truth is, that is where God is, and where there is God, there
is also liberty.
FINAL NOTES:
As you witness this year’s festival,
you shall witness your promotion, your breakthroughs, open doors, fruit of the
womb, good health, long and prosperous life, and whatever is your heart desire.
Your enemies shall be brought to shame; and every devourer in your life must
bow.
Now, for the benefits of the new
comers in our midst, we are here to venerate the god
of fair play for the sake of our lives and our prosperities. This is a place where
you don’t need any charms to succeed in whatever you are doing provided you
follow the instructions given earlier. Now that you have discovered this place,
help your family and friends to discover it too. Tell them that whatever the
problem they may be facing, by the time the elders of Umolum echoed “JEMELIE-IVE-OKWU” on their behalf, the
problem is over. Honestly, space will not permit me to write everything you may
need to know about this place. So, for more information, kindly visit: imabaerechi.blogspot.com.ng; or
simply google Imaba-Erechi Ancient
Prayer Home. You can also send us emails via: imabaerechi@gmail.com
Once more, happy Imaba-Erechi Pilgrimage 2018.
